Andreia Rafaela Fernandes Nunes' academic career began at the University of Coimbra, where she obtained a degree in Geology in 2021, followed by a Master's degree in Geosciences in 2023, at the same university. This solid training provided a substantial base of knowledge and technical skills in the field of Earth Sciences. During her undergraduate studies, she participated in the project called Académica Start UC, organized by the University of Coimbra and the Academic Association of Coimbra, where she served as an ambassador, contributing to the promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation among university students. In this context, she conceived a project called GeoXplora, which brought together more than ten thousand people online to discuss geoconservation in Portugal. This initiative later resulted in the publication of a scientific article (Nunes et al., 2022). This experience not only allowed her to broaden her knowledge in specific areas of the geosciences, but also provided valuable experience in research and scientific writing. After completing his degree, she had the opportunity to collaborate with the Geosciences Center of the University of Coimbra, where she participated in volunteer activities and contributed to various research projects related to different topics in the field of geosciences. Throughout her academic journey, she participated in several conferences, including the EJIP (Meeting of Young Researchers in Paleontology) and the XXXVII Paleontology Conference in 2021 and 2022, presenting posters and giving presentations. Thanks to these events, a conference article was produced (Ribeiro et al., 2021), in which she was a co-author, as well as the publication of several abstracts in conference proceedings. As part of his master's thesis, she focused on the analysis of Ostracodes from the Upper Ordovician in Portugal, an innovative study in the country, where she obtained a score of 17. In the summer of 2023, she undertook a summer internship at the University of Coimbra, during which she delved into a new area of Earth Sciences. This internship focused on the analysis of marine sediments retrieved from the Algarve shelf, sparking an interest in coastal and marine geology. Dynamic and proactive, before completing her master's dissertation, she looked for various job opportunities and was selected to join Cecolab - Circular Economy, in Oliveira do Hospital, where she stayed for a year. In November 2024, she won a PhD scholarship in Non-Academic Environment from the FCT, where the host company is Spotlite, with a thesis on coastal erosion.
