Francesco Ventura holds a first class honours BSc in Biological Sciences obtained in 2015 from the University of Rome, La Sapienza. In 2016, he completed his MSc (with Distinction) in Quantitative Methods in Biodiversity, Conservation and Epidemiology at the University of Glasgow. From 2016 to 2017 he worked as a Research Assistant and Data Analyst at the University of Glasgow on a project funded by the World Health Organisation, modelling the impacts of improved provision of rabies post-exposure prophylaxis. He is currently undertaking his PhD in Biology and Ecology of Global Change at the University of Lisbon, which he began in 2018. He has published 5 articles in international peer-reviewed journals. His main areas of expertise encompass quantitative ecology, spatial and population biology and conservation biology, with a particular focus on marine megafauna.
