Since July 2020 I am a principal researcher at the Instituto de Astrofísica e Ciências do Espaço with a stimulus FCT contract. I graduated in Physics/Applied Mathematics in 2003 and completed a master degree in Astronomy in 2004, both by the University of Porto. My PhD thesis was developed at CAUP and at Centro de Astronomia e Astrofísica da Universidade de Lisboa. In 2009 I started a post-doc (funded by FCT) between CAUP and the Instituto de Astrofisica de Canarias (Spain). Recognizing the importance of astro-informatics in present day astrophysics, in parallel to my post-doc I have also graduated in Informatics Engineering by the School of Engineering, Polytechnic of Porto in 2012. In 2013 I was an Assistant Professor at Department of Physics and Astronomy, Porto University and I am currently a regular invited professor for the Astronomy doctoral program. Also, since 2017 I have been an invited Assistant professor at a private university (CESPU). I am currently supervising 3 PhD students and 3 under-graduate students. I have already ended the supervision of 6 post-docs, 3 PhD students, 7 MSc, and 20 under-graduate students. My recognized expertise in the field of exoplanets, together with my know-how in instrumentation development, led me to be invited and to serve for the last 6 years as the national representative at the Science Technical Committee and the ELT Sub-committee at ESO. I have published 309 papers in international peer review journals with more than 14500 citations and an H-index of 66 (NASA ADS - http://adsabs.harvard.edu). Some of these papers were published in Nature and Science. I am the leading author of 16 refereed papers that alone have already gathered ~1500 citations. My scientific productivity is mostly based on my leadership and participation in several successful observation proposals, including some ESO Large Programs. I was the PI of one FCT research project (240 kE for 3 years) and an exploratory project (40kE for 5 years). I was also the PI of a bi-lateral project between Portugal and Poland (~10 kE).. As Co-I I was involved in several national and international projects. I currently participate in large international collaborations, namely I am a board member for CHEOPS and part of the science team of ESPRESSO. For CHEOPS I have been leading the "Target Stellar Characterization" working group since the beginning of the mission. For ESPRESSO I was the Science team chair for 2 years (2020-2021). Finally, I gave several oral presentations in international conferences and courses in two international schools. I participated in the organization of 6 international conferences and several workshops and project progress meetings. For outreach I have given dozens of talks at schools, participated in several activities organized by the institute (e.g. Ignite Astro, Researcher¿s night, etc¿), participated in the development of a Planetarium session (¿CHEOPS: Hello Universe!¿), and gave several interviews and participation in media communication, including TV and Radio programs.
