DANIEL FILIPE BORGES is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurophysiology and an integrated researcher in the Pre-Clinical
and Translational Neuroscience Group within RISE-Health|TBIO, a joint initiative of the Faculty of Medicine of the University
of Porto (FMUP) and the Polytechnic University of Porto (E2S|P.PORTO). He holds a PhD in Neuroscience from FMUP, after having
obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Neuropsychology. His background and speciality title is Neurophysiology/Electroencephalography
(EEG). His clinical and research interests focus on multimodal EEG, wearable neurotechnology, epilepsy across the lifespan,
pre-surgical assessment for epilepsy surgery, cortical functional connectivity and sleep medicine. He has been a lecturer
at E2S|P.PORTO, CESPU-ESSVA and IPC-ESTeSC since 2006. Previously, he was Head of the Clinical Physiology Programme, Director
of the Postgraduate Course in Electroencephalography, member of the Technical-Scientific Council and Co-Coordinator of the
Master’s Degree in Clinical Physiology at Coimbra Health School. Over the course of almost two decades, he has taught more
than 120 course units - about half of them as coordinator , supervised more than 25 students and served on more than 50 graduation
juries and 11 specialisation juries in neurophysiology. His scientific achievements include 10 peer-reviewed articles, more
than 50 presentations and posters at national and international conferences, for which he has received three awards. He is
a frequent participant in the scientific community and has attended more than 100 conferences and served as an organiser,
committee member or moderator on more than 25 occasions. He is also a guest reviewer for several prestigious Q1 and Q2 journals.
Clinically, he brings 15 years of experience as a Clinical Neurophysiology Technologist in the Portuguese National Health
Service, where he worked in the Departments of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Paediatrics, specialising in multimodal EEG, epilepsy
surgery and sleep medicine for neonatal, paediatric and adult patients. He is also an active member of: - Neurotechnology
