Luís Conde Bento received the Licenciatura degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics and Automation field from the Sciences and Technology Faculty of the University of Coimbra, Portugal, in 2001. He has a Master thesis in Automatic Control by the Institute of Technology of the Lund University, Sweden. He obtained is Ph.D degree at the Sciences and Technology Faculty of the University of Coimbra, Portugal. He was a researcher at the Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique, Versailles, France, and currently he is a researcher at the Institute for Systems and Robotics at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. Since 2023 he is an and AI Scientific Consultant for Critical Software. In 2004 he joined School of Technology and Management (ESTG) of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (IPLeiria) and now he is Assistant Professor. Luís has authored or co-authored papers in conferences and international journals. He was Chair of the 10th Conference on Mobile Robots and Competitions, ROBÓTICA 2010, Leiria, March 2010. Has received 3 awards and/or honors. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Automatic Control and Autonomous Vehicles. Luís has also been enrolled in several funded R&D projects acting either as Co-Manager or Supervisor as well as hardware and middleware developer for embedded systems.
