Gonçalo Fernandes da Silva completed his BCs in Biology by the University of Coimbra in 2022. There he presented works surrounding Child Obesity in Portugal and the Effects of Stress on a person´s life cycle. Whilst there, he participated and organized a multitude of Biology-based events and workshops, emphasizing his role on multiple departments of his Student Coucil during those years. Currently, he is tackling a Masters degree in Biomedical Sciences in the University of Beira Interior. There he remains an active member of the faculty, organizing and participating, once more, in multiple events. He highlights his participation on Ciências 2024, an FCT-organized event in Porto, where he presented a poster entitled "Ionotropically crosslinked alginate hydrogels for compound delivery: optimization of the polymer and ion concentrations". Currently he is developing his master´s thesis of the topic "Dextran-based Injectable Hydrogels loaded with Graphene Nanosystems and Drugs for Cancer Chemo-Photothermal Therapy".
