Daniela Lopes completed her PhD in the highly competitive Advanced Materials and Processing doctoral program (AdvaMTech) in 2020 at the University of Coimbra, endorsed with the highest mark "praise with distinction". She is a Researcher in the University of Aveiro (CICECO-Aveiro Institute of Materials). She was recently awarded a Junior Research employment contract (CEEC-FCT) to start her own research project related to the production of iron/iron alloys by electrolysis. Moreover, Daniela has experience in working with the electroreduction of iron oxides into Fe in alkaline media and the design of porous ceramics for electrochemical purposes. Relevant soft skills were gained when working directly with Yara Suomi Oy and Pyhäsalmi Mine Oy companies (Finland) during her employment as a Junior Researcher in the Laboratory of Green Chemistry of the Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology (LUT), Finland. Daniela has 29 publications in international refereed journals (10 as first author+corresponding author) with 663 citations, h-13 (Google Scholar), +1 publication as last author+corresponding author, 15 oral presentations in international conferences as first author and is one of the three inventors of a filed patent. Her supervision activities include 1 PhD student (ongoing), 3 MSc students, 1 Erasmus+ internship of a BSc student, 1 PostDoctoral researcher. Moreover, Daniela contributed by tutoring 3 PhD students, 3 MSc students, 1 trainee and 1 high school student under the Ciência Viva university program. Daniela was awarded with a full scholarship for attending a course on minerals industry sustainability within a Nordic context (offered to 20 people by NordMin company) in Luleå University of Technology, Sweden, and with 2 Young Researcher Travel support by JECS Trust for attending conferences,  and 2 awards for the 3% of the best students in the Integrated Master Degree in Environmental Engineering, University of Coimbra.
