I hold a PhD in Biology with significant experience in RNA biology. I am well-versed in cutting-edge technologies in this field and the expanding understanding of RNA's role in biological processes, such as host-microbe interactions, as well as synthetic biology applications, from industrial uses to human health. I am trained in molecular biology techniques, including work with proteins, RNA, and DNA, including radiochemistry and gene engineering methods. I also have experience in microbiology, such as optical, fluorescence, and transmission electron microscopy, and working with bacteria like Myxococcus xanthus, Sinorhizobium meliloti, and Escherichia coli. My work with rhizobia-legume symbiosis has provided experience with plants, specifically Medicago species. My computational skills include statistical analysis and high-throughput sequencing data processing, utilizing programming languages such as C/C++ (MacOS terminal and Ubuntu console) and R. I am currently learning Python. I have also gained teaching experience at the university level, assisting in practical labs for various degree programs and delivering lectures to master’s students. Professionally, I began with a full-time practice contract at Estación Experimental del Zaidín (EEZ), part of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), in 2016, followed by a full-time Research Support Technician position at the Department of Microbiology, University of Granada, in 2017, both funded by competitive grants. From 2017 to 2022, I held a PhD student position at EEZ (CSIC), funded by the Training Programme for Academic Staff (FPU) from the Spanish Ministry of Universities. During this time, I completed a funded short stay at the LOEWE-Zentrum für Synthetische Mikrobiologie in Marburg. I earned “Cum Laude” and “International” mentions for my doctoral thesis. From May 2022 to March 2024, I continued my research through a postdoctoral contract with the same research group. My research has resulted in five scientific articles published in Q1 journals (two of them as first author and one as co-first author) and four methodological book chapter (two of them as first author). I have also participated in national (five) and international (fifteen) conferences (five poster presentation and five oral communication as first author).
