Maryam Esfidani. Completed the bachelor’s in laboratory science on 2005/02/18 and the master’s in medical mycology on 2018/11/28 at Kerman University of Medical Sciences. In 2018 the article titled "Determination of Changes in the Expression of MIR-212 and EGFR Genes in Clinical Samples from Areas Infected with Trichophyton rubrum Compared with Non-Infected Areas" in the Jundishapur Journal of Microbiology: Vol. 11, Issue 11; e62885, published online October 17, 2018, on her dissertation research, DOI: 10.5812/jjm.62885. A poster presentation she attended at the ISHAM International Congress in Medical Mycology in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in 2018 (link: https://doi.org/10.1093/mmy/myy036.-P018). Since she was very interested in research, in 2020, she published her book in nine languages in Germany, ISBN-13: 978-620-3-02933-8. Another poster presentation for her was The Effect of COVID-19 and Immunosuppressive Drugs and Diabetes on the Spread of Mucormycosis at the ISHAM International Congress in Medical Mycology, in New Delhi, India, in 2022 (link https://doi.org/10.1093/mmy/myac072.P189). She has participated in the Top Female Founders Summer School 2023 in Vienna, Austria, in EIT Health. She has worked in the areas emphasizing health sciences for 17 years. She is proficient in working with a microscope. PCR & real-time PCR were the best methods for detecting the genomes of microbes and viruses that she has been able to work with. She was very active in isolating and separating microbial colonies, using various types of general and selective culture medicine in the best way. She was a supervisor and oversaw the laboratory for 5 years, Natural Sciences with an emphasis on Biological Sciences (Bioscience) in the Ph.D. program at Coimbra University from 2022. In this program, she passed training in the Algae Laboratory: sterilization of glass material, preparation of stock solutions, and culture media, methodologies for scaling up cultures, tubular photobioreactors, extraction of compounds from biomass, and using Nanodrops for tests at the Department of Life Science in the Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Coimbra. Education in Biotechnology is another course that she passed that contains bioremediation and its objectives, phytoremediation, biodegradation, non-metal removal use by plants, phytoremediation, and control of organic contaminations; factors that affect bioremediation; and soil treatment at the Department of Life Science in the Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Coimbra (DCV). Formações iiiUC_Impacter 3.0 in December 2022 was an online seminar that she participated in (link: https://www.uc.pt/iii). Under Prof. Paula Morais's supervision, she cultivated of deforested strains from a collection of hospital-environmental bacterial isolates deposited in the University of Coimbra Bacteria Culture Collection (UCCCB). After using Nanodrop to verify the extracted DNA's concentration, she proceeded with the PCR technique, purified the DNA to target the 16S genome, sent it for 16S sequencing, used SqeScanner analysis after the result, and used EziBioCloud, a bioinformatic program, to compare strains in order to identify novel strains. Formação iiiUC: Ferramentas de Apoio à Investigação Ética na Investigação no dia 27 de março 2025 was another online seminar that she participated in 2025 (link: https://www.uc.pt/iii). In her curriculum vitae, the most frequent terms in scientific, technological, and artistic-cultural output are "laboratory sciences, health sciences, environmental science, diagnostics in microbiology, analysis of the genome of microorganisms by PCR, real-time PCR technique, and bioinformatic analyses."
