João Costa Leite has solid research and analytical skills acquired throughout several years of experience in international research environments with strong commitment to ethical and professional standards. He is professor of Dietary Assessment Methods, Nutrition Epidemiology and Food Policy at University Fernando Pessoa, Porto and a researcher at CINTESIS/FMUP having managed a number nutritional research studies including a cross-sectional study to monitor iodine status among school age children and a clinical study to investigate the effectiveness of physical activity training programs for healthy ageing. He is graduated in Nutrition and Food Sciences from University of Porto (2007) and holds a PhD degree in Human Nutrition from University College Dublin (2013). His experience at European Commission Joint Research Centre (Ispra) and contribution to the Experts Panel on Nitrogen and Food (EPNF - UNECE) motivates his current scientific interest on food systems, public health and sustainability.
