My name is Rita Sofia Cebola Rebelo Manuel. I am a PhD Student at the Bacterial Energy Metabolism Lab in ITQB NOVA since October 2020, working in the Biotechnology and Biocatalysis fields. I finished my BSc in Cellular and Molecular Biology on July 2017 (final evaluation: 15), with an internship at the Pathology Department of the University of Cambridge, England, and my MSc in Biotechnology for Sustainability from Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica António Xavier (ITQB NOVA) on November 2019 (final evaluation: 18). My Master's dissertation research in the Synthetic Biology field - Influence of Ferredoxin, Iron-Sulfur Carrier and Cobalamin Importer Overexpression on the Production of High-value Products by Escherichia coli - was accomplished at the Bionanosciences Department of TU Delft, Netherlands, with one oral presentation in the conference 2019 Synthetic Biology: Engineering, Evolution & Design, and part of an EU financed project. Thus, my experience relies on the Engineering Sciences field, essentially Environmental Biotechnology and Synthetic Biology, and on the Biological Sciences field, with an emphasis on Cellular and Molecular Biology.
