I am a postdoctoral researcher at Charles University (Prague, Czech Republic), associated with the research project ‘Recognition in Language and Morality’ (PI: Sybren Heyndels). I obtained a PhD in Communication Sciences (with a specialisation in argumentation theory) in 2024 at NOVA University of Lisbon (Portugal), awarded the highest distinction in the Portuguese system (Muito bom e Distinção por unanimidade), and I am the Secretary of the Argumentation Community of Europe (ACE). My theoretical background is in philosophy. I obtained a BA in Philosophy (2013–2017), an MA in Logic and Philosophy of Science (2018–2019), and an MA in Teacher Training (2018–2019) at the University of La Laguna (Spain). I have won several highly competitive and prestigious scholarships that have funded my academic trajectory. I was awarded the IFILNOVA scholarship to support my PhD studies at NOVA University of Lisbon (Portugal) in collaboration with the research project COST Action ‘European Network for Argumentation and Public Policy Analysis (APPLY)’ (PI: Marcin Lewinski) in 2019. I also received the prestigious FCT scholarship for PhD students (2020.09683.BD), which funded my research from 2020 to 2024. In 2021, I was awarded a scholarship funded by COST Action APPLY to carry out a short-term scientific mission at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University (Milan, Italy), hosted by Prof. Claudia Bianchi and Prof. Bianca Cepollaro. After completing my PhD, I received a scholarship for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant position at NOVA University of Lisbon (Portugal), funded by COST Action APPLY (January–July 2025), and another scholarship for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant position (November 2025–January 2026) at NOVA University of Lisbon (Portugal), funded by the HORIZON project MultiPoD. I have published six papers in five leading peer-reviewed philosophy journals, including one article in Synthese (Q1), Argumentation (Q1), one in Topoi (Q1), one in Daimon (Q2), and two in Revista Iberoamericana de Argumentación (Q3). I have edited a special issue of Revista Iberoamericana de Argumentación (2024) on the topic of argumentation in the public sphere, and I have presented my research at more than twenty international academic events, including workshops, seminars, and conferences. I have participated in multiple research projects, including: COST Action APPLY (PI: Marcin Lewinski), ‘From Scandal to Normalisation: Theoretical and Empirical Investigations of Hate Speech in Contemporary Public Discourse’ (PI: Gabrijela Kisicek), ‘Communicative Paths to Righting Epistemic Wrongs (CORES)’ (PI: Giulia Terzian), ‘Back to the Future? Populism and the Legacies of Authoritarian Regimes (POLAR)’ (PI: Luca Manucci), and ‘Prácticas argumentativas y pragmáticas de las razones’ (PI: Humberto Marraud). My collaboration in these projects ranges from the co-organisation of workshops and conferences to website management and administrative support. Regarding the former, I have co-organised academic events such as the III Congreso Iberoamericano de Argumentación (Buenos Aires, Argentina, March 2026), the Workshop on the Concept of “Argument” (Lisbon, Portugal, January 2025), the workshop ‘Authority and Metalinguistic Speech Acts’ (Lisbon, Portugal, January 2024), the COST Action APPLY Closing Conference (Lisbon, Portugal, March 2023), and the conference ‘Norms of Public Arguments: A Speech Act Perspective’ (Lisbon, Portugal, July 2022). Regarding other relevant activities, I have taught BA courses in Ethics of Communication and Rhetoric and Argumentation, as well as several MA courses in strategic communication at NOVA University of Lisbon, Portugal. I have reviewed papers for philosophy journals such as Argumentation (Q1), Topoi (Q1), Theoria (Q1), Cogent Sciences (Q2), and Kriterion (Q4). I also hold an advanced level of English (C1), certified by Cambridge, and an advanced level of Portuguese (C1), certified by the CAPLE.
