Pedro Alexandre Pereira dos Reis. He graduated in Environmental Engineering by the University of Aveiro in 2002 and immediately started working in the Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry of CIIMAR, wherein he become specialist in several chemical analytical techniques as AAS, GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS. In 2007, he finished the European MSc in Marine Sciences and Marine Resources by the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar of University of Porto (ICBAS) with final classification of 18 values ("Very Good") and acquired the specialization in "Biology and Marine Ecology". In 2013, he completed his PhD in Biomedical Sciences also by ICBAS with final classification of 20 values ("Approved Unanimously with Distinction and Honors") and become specialist in "Environmental Chemistry". Until 2023, he was co-awarded with FCT projects EXPL/ASP-PES/1026/2021; PTDC/CTA-AMB/30181/2017, PEst-C/MAR/LA0015/2013 and UID/Multi/04423/2013 and European project FP7/SME/2013/606032. A high degree of success in competitive calls for grant applications is thus demonstrated. In 2019, he was a contracted Auxiliar Investigator by FCT project "GLOBALED - Impacts of global change Impacts of global change on environmentally realistic mixtures of endocrine disruptor compounds on the structure and functioning of coastal ecosystems: Implications for a sustainable environment" and he studied Progestins effects along food-webs of Ria de Aveiro, River Mondego and Ria Formosa. In 2021, he was research-partner in the FCT project "ECOS - New tools to evaluate the ecological status of rocky shores and its relationship with ecosystem services" and he assesses the effects of different emergent pollutants on the ecological quality of rocky shores along Portugal. During 2022-2023, he was Co-Principal Investigator in the FCT project "Fighting illegal trade of glass-eel, Anguilla anguilla: Chemical weapons" and he developed effective chemical “weapons” to fingerprint and certify wild Glass-eels. Overall, he published 27 scientific papers in international peer review journals with: (i) accumulated impact factor of 59.4, which translates in an average of 2.2 per paper; (ii) total of 447 citations in 364 Scopus documents; (iii) h-index of 14; (iv) 11 papers in first-quartile journals; (v) 19 papers as first or senior author. During his post-doc projects (2013-2023), he published 20 scientific papers thus indicating high publication competence (average of 2.0 papers/year). From these 20 papers, none of his PhD supervisors are among the co-authors in 14 papers, which indicate high degree of scientific independence. Since 2013, he is Invited Assistant Professor in ICBAS and University Fernando Pessoa wherein he respectively lectures "Techniques and Applications of Chemistry and Biochemistry in Marine Sciences" and "Environmental Biochemistry" and actively participates in state-of-the-art national and international conferences to ensure dissemination of his work. He is currently supervising 1 PhD and he successfully supervised 5 thesis between 2011 and 2023. Internationalization is further reinforced since he was investigator in the European project SEABIOPLAS that was a giant transnational cooperation between Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Netherland, Ireland and England, wherein I co-authored 2 European Commission Research Executive Agency (Brussels, Belgium) publications. In his professional activities, he interacted with 21 collaborators in co-authorship of scientific works.
