M. Evtyugina graduated in Chemical Engineering by the Forestry Technical Academy of St. Petersburg (Russia) in 1985 and completed her PhD in Environmental Sciences at University of Aveiro (UA) in 2004. During the post-doctoral stage in University of Aveiro and University of Tras-os-Montes and Alto Douro in Vila Real (Portugal) she acquired fundamental knowledge in air pollution, which allowed a wide experience in different sampling methods, analytical methodologies in the analysis of gaseous and particulate atmospheric pollutants and modelling. Additional skills in the Instrumental Methods of Analyses and Laboratory Management have been gained during the leadership of the Analytical Laboratory at the Associated Laboratory CIIMAR (University of Porto). As an auxiliary researcher at CESAM, she deepened and expanded the knowledge and practical skills in indoor/outdoor air quality and gaseous/PM emissions from the combustion of biomass and other sources. M. Evtyugina published 2 book chapters and 53 papers (h-index 26 by Google Scholar) in the international peer review journals with 2531 citations. Most of papers were published in the leading journals of Environmental Science (Atmospheric Environment, Science of Total Environmental, Journal of Geographic Research and Atmospheric Research). The research results were presented at 72 International and National Conferences. As team member, M. Evtyugina participated in 4 international and 6 national researcher projects. She was also the coordinator of one research project. Pedagogical activity included postgraduate course in Atmospheric Pollution and Doctoral Program in Environmental Sciences and Engineering at UA, as well as supervision of post gradual students (4 Masters and 1 PhD).
