Ricardo Miguel Sá Sendão is a PhD scholarship candidate for the 2021 Call for PhD Research Studentships. He completed his MSc in Biochemistry in 2019 and is BSc in Biochemistry in 2014, both awarded by the University of Porto. He has been the recipient of two investigation scholarships and participated in extracurricular internships to develop his skills. From 2020 to 2021 he was a participant as an Early Stage Researcher in an EU project (CHARISMA) funded under the European Union's Horizon 2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions programme. His research interests include photoluminescence, photocatalysis, carbon nanomaterials and their sustainable development and the study of the environmental impacts of some nanomaterials. Since the start of his academic career, he has published two book chapters and seven papers in international peer-reviewed journals. Additionally, he was the speaker in ten oral communications at both national and international scientific conferences. Two poster communications were also made by him.
