Gustavo Paixão, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine since 2010 (Universidade de Évora) worked as farm and mixed animal clinician, having proven track in several practices in the UK and Portugal. In 2022, he concluded the PhD in Animal Science with the thesis entitled "Immunocastration in Bísaro Pig" (Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro), pursuing his interests in veterinary education and research. His main research topics are pig reproduction, bovine health and herd management, antimicrobial resistance and veterinary nursing education. GP is an integrated member of Center for Research and Development in Agrifood Systems and Sustainability (CISAS) - IPVC and also collaborates with Veterinary and Animal Research Centre (CECAV) - UTAD, Associate Laboratory for Animal and Veterinary Sciences AL4AnimalS. GP published 9 articles in specialized journals, indexed to Scopus/WoS, co-authored 4 book chapters and actively participated in more than 20 scientific events. He currently teaches at the Escola Superior Agrária - Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo as Invited Adjunct Professor, and at the Escola Superior Agrária - Instituto Politécnico de Bragança.
