André de Campos Silva obtained in 2007 a degree in History from the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon. From the same institution he obtained in 2011 an M.A. in Ancient History with the thesis «The Status of Free Will in Ancient Egypt's Old and Middle Kingdoms according to the Instruction of Ptahhotep», supervised by Doctors José Ramos and Harold Hays. In 2019, with funding from the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (SFRH/BD/78790/2011) and having the Centre of Religious History Studies (UCP-CEHR) as host institution, he obtained from the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon a PhD in History and Culture of Religions with the dissertation «The Roles of God in the Ancient Egyptian Texts of the Middle and New Kingdoms», supervised by José Ramos and Rune Nyord. He is an affiliated researcher at UCP-CEHR and the Centre for History of the University of Lisbon. At UCP-CEHR he collaborates with the Board of Journal Reviews and co-coordinates the research group 'Religions of the Ancient World: History, Archaeology and Philology'. His research interests are: Egyptian religion, personal religion, wisdom literature, and history of religions.
