Architect, PhD, researcher, her work focuses on the interdisciplinarity of research on the city in its adaptation to climate change, from a perspective of environmental and social sustainability, exploring (i) the history of urban development for the valorization of urban public spaces in historical contexts and cultural heritage, (ii) the inclusive city, researching tools and strategies for accessibility of the built environment through universal design, and (iii) aspects of the city's green structure for the promotion of biodiversity and permaculture, within the scope of urban agriculture. In recent years, as part of his research at the Instituto Superior Técnico, she created and coordinated the initiative "Sustainable Técnico - Environment Society Economy" of the Técnico Environmental Science and Engineering Platform, with the aim of integrating sustainability into the university, using the university campus as a space for experimentation, implementing some living labs (Hortus – Inclusive Garden of Biodiversity and Permaculture; the Técnico Green Wall; the project Técnico makes the Difference), with the transversal collaboration of the Técnico community through the R&D center, services and student organizations, and integrating the development of experimental MSc and PhD theses on campus, and environmental and social education initiatives for the Técnico community and with schools from other cycles. She has published scientific articles in scientific journals and conference proceedings. She has been speaker at numerous national and international scientific meetings and events. She participate in two funded European projects: (i) H2020 ECF4CLIM project, (ii) Bauhaus of the Seas Sails.
