Ana Queirós Barbosa is an experienced professional with a strong background in Materials Engineering, holding an MSc from FEUP (2008) and a PhD (2017) with an FCT individual grant. Her doctoral research focused on using cork powder as a reinforcement material for brittle adhesives, work that was awarded the best presentation prize at the AB2011 conference. Since completing her PhD, she has dedicated herself to research and development, resulting in two patents in partnership with Spanish universities (Comillas and Carlos III). As a member of LAETA/INEGI, she continued to deepen her expertise in the mechanical properties of adhesives and advanced joining processes within INEGI's Advanced Joining Processes Unit (AJPU), where she has served as Business Development Coordinator since 2019. Her extensive experience in this capacity allows her to represent INEGI in European meetings (EARPA) focused on optimization in the automotive sector and to actively participate in educational projects and scientific dissemination activities, including involvement in scientific committees of materials and adhesive bonding conferences and invited lectures on adhesive bonding. She recently secured an employment contract with FCT under the Scientific Employment Incentive program. With a distinguished and growing publication record, including 39 documents indexed in Scopus, over 950 citations, and an h-index of 19 (as of July 29, 2025), she demonstrates a solid and impactful scientific contribution. She has also authored 2 books and 2 book chapters. In addition to research, in the last three years, she has also acted as a project manager and project consultant. She was also the Principal Investigator of a project funded by FCT aimed at developing functionally graded adhesive joints using magnetized micro-particles. Since 2024, she has been a Project Manager at EWF (European Federation for Welding, Joining and Cutting), where she leads initiatives in Additive Manufacturing (AM), laser texturing, and welding.
