Pedro Emanuel Cardoso de Sousa is an accomplished educator, IT professional, and industry collaborator specializing in cybersecurity, networks, and information technologies. He is a professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo, teaching at the Higher School of Technology and Management and the Higher School of Sport and Leisure. Pedro holds a degree in Computer Engineering and a postgraduate degree in Network Administration and Computer Systems. As a member of the Order of Engineers (OE) and the Order of Technical Engineers (OET), he is recognized as a specialist in Information Systems. From 2004 to 2020, Pedro worked in IT services at the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo, including 13 years as coordinator, where he successfully led numerous administrative and technological modernization initiatives. Beyond his academic contributions, he has maintained strong ties to the business world and industry, leading impactful projects in technological modernization, data center development, and cybersecurity. Since 2020, Pedro has dedicated himself to academia, teaching and collaborating with prestigious institutions such as the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo, the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Porto and the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave. Pedro has continued his industry engagement, contributing to projects focused on Scrum implementation, DevOps, and cybersecurity. His work extends to training and project coordination for the National Cybersecurity Center (CNCS), where he is a trainer for the C-Academy project and the coordinator of the C-Network project at IPVC. Pedro’s areas of expertise and interest include cybersecurity, systems administration, agile methodologies, and secure development approaches through DevOps and DevSecOps.
