Paula Pinto, PhD, MD is a pulmonologist that currently holds the position of Invited professor at Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon (FMUL). She is an investigator in the Research Group for Non-Communicable Diseases at the Institute of Environmental Health (ISAMB) within FMUL. Additionally, since 2013 she has the role of Coordinator of Sleep and Non Invasive Unit at Unidade Local de Saúde de Santa Maria. She is also Vice-President of Portuguese Respiratory Society (SPP) and board member of the Portuguese Sleep Association (APS). Board Member College of Pulmonology of the Portuguese Medical Association from 2018 to 2024. European Respiratory Society (ERS) Delegate from 2016 to 2019. Member of the Editorial Board and Reviewer of Pulmonology. Competence in Sleep Medicine by the Portuguese Medical Association. Her research interests are in the field of COPD, Asthma, Sleep Apnoea Syndrome and Non Invasive Ventilation. PI or Co-PI in 18 international Research Clinical Trials. She is integrated on national and international investigational networks such as, Respiratory Sleep Disorders and Non Invasive Ventilation on behalf of Portuguese Respiratory Society (SPP) and Paula Pinto published 50 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Supervised 1 PhD thesis and 17 MSc dissertation(s). Has received 24 awards.
