Ana Paula Borghi de Avelar has a degree in Interior Design, which she obtained in 2011 from Centro Universitário de Maringá - UniCesumar. However, before that, she completed the first 3 years of the Interior Design course at the Federal University of Uberlândia but had to change cities and finish the course at another institution. Her final project for the course was the development of sustainable furniture - the Fliege table. She has always been very interested in the History of Architecture, which led her to complete her Master's degree in Architecture and Urbanism, completed in 2017 from the Federal University of Uberlândia-Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism and Design (UFU / FAUeD). The area of Concentration: Project, Space, and Culture, with the title 'A Arquitetura Moderna Religiosa Brasileira', was featured in the magazines Acropole and Habitat between 1950 and 1971. This forms part of the research line 'Architecture and City: theory, history and conservation'. The project aims to develop research related to the history of architecture, focusing on the history and historiography of modern architecture and religion. Both degrees were obtained in Brazil. Today she is a PhD student at the University of Lisbon in the Faculty of Architecture enrolled in the Specialty Area: Theory and History, seeking to continue her research started in her master's degree. Now focus on the history of modern religious architecture between Brazil and Portugal given the great historical importance that links these two sister countries (and architecture is a strong point in this relationship, as it is what tells the story of that place). Also, as an undergraduate student at FAUeD, she won first place in the Circuito Culturarte competition at the Federal University of Uberlândia in 2010 for multifunctional furniture developed for university accommodation, where the furniture would be used for sleeping, eating, studying, and storage. She has professional experience as an interior designer since 2011, developing projects of her design and in partnerships, one of her projects was carried out in the city of Mechelen in Belgium. She works in the area of Humanities with an emphasis on Architecture and Design. In its Science Vitae curriculum, the most frequent terms in the context of scientific, technological, and artistic-cultural production are history of architecture; modern movement; modern religious architecture in Portugal and Brazil; and architectural magazines. Her areas of interest are Architectural History, Modern Movement, Modern Architecture, Design History, Interiors and Projects.
