Yasmina Rodríguez worked as a research assistant in the field of marine litter pollution for 6 years (2015-2020) at the IMAR/OKEANOS Centre, University of the Azores. She coordinated all practical and analytical tasks within various national and international research projects (AZORLIT, LIXAZ, INDICIT I, INDICIT II, IMPLAMAC, and PLASTDEEP). She is the co-author of 11 scientific publications on this topic in indexed journals and has participated in numerous presentations at scientific conferences. Currently, she is a Ph.D. student in Marine Sciences (2021 to 2025), specializing in Marine Ecology - FRCT doctoral grant (M3.1.a/F/022/2020) at the Institute of Marine Sciences - Okeanos, University of the Azores (UAç), Horta, Portugal.
