Sabrina M. Rodrigues Magalhães is a biologist with a master’s degree in Marine Sciences – Marine Resources and a PhD in Aquatic Sciences – Biology and Ecology. Her research focuses on microplastic contamination in estuarine and coastal environments and its impacts on wildlife and ecosystems. She has published several papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and has presented her work (both poster and oral) at multiple international conferences. Currently, she works at CIIMAR (Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research) in Porto, Portugal. She has been involved in several national and international projects (Nettag+, Planktastic, FreeLitter, etc.) focused on the detection, monitoring, and reduction of pollution. She is also actively engaged in outreach activities and committees.
