Marta Relvas-Santos graduated in Biochemistry by the Faculty of Sciences and Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar of the University of Porto in 2016. In 2018, she completed her Master's degree in Biochemistry at the same institutions. Her dissertation focused on the comprehensive study of bladder cancer O-glycome (including the influence of microenvironmental stimuli), as well as the glycoproteome, which has allowed to guide functional studies towards targeted therapeutics. Currently, she is a PhD student at Experimental Pathology and Therapeutics Group (IPO-Porto), LAQV-REQUIMTE (FCUP), and INEB-i3S. Previously, she worked as Technician in the Mass Spectrometry laboratory of the Materials Centre of the University of Porto. Her major research areas of interest are cancer glycobiology, glycomics, glycoproteomics, and mass spectrometry.
