Cristina Maria Bernardes Monteiro has a CEEC-individual 2017 contract as Assistant Researcher since April 2019. CMB Monteiro's research carrier started in the middle of her 5-years' graduation course, followed by a 2-year MSc, a 4-year PhD (concluded in Feb.2011), a 7 year Pos-Doc FCT-grant (concluded in Dec.2018), a Junior-Researcher Contract (Dec.2018) which she gave up to begin an Assistant Researcher Contract (CEEC 2017 (individual) from April 2019 on); this contract was obtained in a highly competitive international call for researcher contracts for all areas of knowledge for the whole Portugal; CMB Monteiro was ranked 3rd in 7 approved contracts out of over 200 applicants for the area of Physical Sciences and ranked 35th out of 1260 applicants for all areas of knowledge. Her main research has been in the area of gaseous noble-gas detectors based on scintillation (primary scintillation, EL, secondary scintillation, neutral bremsstrahlung emission, produced as a consequence of electron impact with the noble gas atoms) and in the area of avalanche photodiodes for x-ray and VUV scintillation detection. In particular, she performed measurements of absolute values for Xe and Ar EL-yield in uniform electric field and in modern micropatterned electron multipliers, like GEM, THGEM, MHSP and Micromegas, with impact in the direct dark matter search and neutrino physics TPCs. She is member of the CREMA Collaboration (precision measurements of the energy level transitions in muonic atoms, for the hyperfine splitting and nuclear charge radii determination, through laser spectroscopy) since 2002, of the CERN-RD51 Collaboration since 2002, of the NEXT Collaboration (detection of the neutrinoless double-beta decay in Xe-136 with a high-pressure Xe TPC based on EL) since 2009, of the DARWIN Collaboration since 2018, of the CYGNO Collaboration since 2020. Besides the R&D activities under those collaborations, she has also collaborated in many projects developed inside her research group, either those attributed to her responsibility or supporting other MSc and PhD projects. She supervised and supervises 5 MSc students (4 concluded, 1 ongoing) and 7 PhD students (2 concluded, 5 ongoing). She is PI of a funded Project from FCT, which research object is within the scope of CERN related activities.
