Researcher for over 9 years in the fields of developmental psychology, child studies, and child health promotion, with 14 years of experience in the field of educational psychology. I hold a degree in Psychology since 2002 from the University Institute of Maia, in 2014 I completed a Master's degree in Child Studies - Psychosocial Intervention with Children, Young People and Families, at the Institute of Education at the University of Minho, and, in 2023 completed my PhD in Child Studies (in the area of child health and development), also at the Institute of Education at the University of Minho. My professional experience in the fields of Psychology, Education and Psychosocial Intervention is based on 14 years working with children in schools and NGOs, promoting their development and well-being and protecting their rights. In addition to my experience in psychological assessment and support of children from preschool to basic education levels, I have also worked in the training and qualification of professionals in the field of education. In terms of volunteering, I would like to highlight my participation in the management of two NGOs with services aimed at socially vulnerable families and the development of social intervention projects in this area. Since my Master's degree in Child Studies, I've had the opportunity to carry out research activities at the University of Minho in the context of child protection and well-being. First as assistant researcher at the Research Center on Child Studies in the Protection of Children and Young People at Risk project, from 2016 to 2018, an opportunity to work on two studies, one on child poverty, risk and resilience, and the other on juvenile delinquency and victimization. Beginning in 2018, I carried out a research project funded by the FCT as part of my PhD in Child Studies, completed in 2023. Recently, I have been working at the inED Centre for Research and Innovation in Education as a research assistant in the Erasmus+ Project PBS-ECEC Implementing Positive Behaviour Support in Early Childhood Education and Care, and as an assistant professor at the School of Education, Polytechnic of Porto. My academic work includes a monograph on promoting resilience in schools using qualitative methods, a master's thesis on ecological resources and the well-being of children living in poverty using quantitative methods, and a doctoral thesis on children´s daily activities and time use and their positive development using a mixed-methods approach. I have published international reports, a chapter in an edited book, abstracts and articles in international conference proceedings, and several articles in indexed international journals. Scientifically, I am interested in children´s everyday life experiences as a developmental phenomenon, particularly, how proximal processes - relationships and daily activities - intertwined with social and cultural factors influence positive child development. I am also interested in the application of person-centered approaches to developmental science and their potential contribute to achieve a better understanding of children´s growth and thriving. I have strong research methods skills, including experience in all phases of project design, implementation and monitoring, including collection, analysis, and reporting of quantitative and qualitative data. I am also proficient in written and oral communication skills in English and Portuguese.
