Larissa Bergamaschi is a scenographer and Ph.D. researcher of Art Science and Heritage at the Fine Arts Faculty of Lisbon University. Born in São Paulo, Brazil, of Italian-Brazilian origin, graduated in Cinema and Audiovisual at the Federal University of São Carlos, and moved to Italy in 2018 to study Set and Exhibition Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. She has worked as a set designer, mainly for film and television projects, since 2013 and she had the opportunity to work on many projects that have made her proud, such as the film "Good Manners" (2017), which won a special mention from the jury at the Locarno International Film Festival, "Hebe: a Estrela do Brasil" (2019), an important film about the history of Brazilian TV, and the most recent film "Papai é Pop" (2021-2022), which addresses themes of family, motherhood, and a fairer world for women. In October 2020, she obtained a second-level Set Design and Exhibition Design diploma from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. There, she found support to expand my possibilities as an artist, acquiring new skills such as drawing and set construction. She graduated with top marks and honors, completing a thesis on an immersive exhibition project about climate change and so-called climate refugees. During the program, she had the opportunity to design the layout for an exhibition by Fernando Botero and to entirely curate an exhibition in homage to the artist Luciano De Vita at the National Pinacoteca of Bologna and art installations in public spaces with the artist Olivier Grossetête. In recent years, she worked for Domestika Italia, a creative startup with a global team of collaborators. She was responsible for the set concept for courses and trailers, customizing each set according to the artist, overseeing set assembly, 3D reality sets, scenographic constructions, prop creation, and graphic design. She has collaborated as a lecturer at Italian and Brazilian universities and she is also a member of the International Consuls of Museums and the VICARTE, Research Unit – Glass and Ceramics for the Arts. Her Ph.D research focuses on sustainability for museography and exhibits, through research into methodologies, materials, and different contexts for stage sets, exhibitions, and installations.
