I am a physical oceanographer with a strong observational background and additional expertise in underwater acoustics. I obtained my PhD in Marine, Earth and Environmental Sciences focused on coastal circulation and upwelling variability and dynamics along the northern Gulf of Cádiz. My academic training is grounded in the analysis of long-term observational datasets, including ADCP, HF radar, and satellite products. My expertise in acoustic oceanography includes underwater sound propagation modeling, soundscape characterization and the integration of acoustic observations with ship traffic information and numerical models. This work is supported by extensive field experience in the design, deployment, and operation of drifting and moored hydrophone arrays in deep-water environments. I am also involved in the development and implementation of long-term acoustic monitoring systems, contributing to the observation of ocean sound as an Essential Ocean Variable and to sustained ocean observing infrastructures.
