Mariana Martins is a PhD candidate at the University of Aveiro, in the Tourism Programme. She holds a Master's degree in Tourism Managament and Planning (2020), by the University of Aveiro and a Bachelor's degree in Tourism (2016) by the same university. She was the Editorial Coordinator of the Journal of Tourism and Development (2017-2024) and is part of the INVTUR International Conference Organising Committee since 2017. More recently she has integrated a study promoted by Turismo de Portugal regarding the labour market of the tourism sector in Portugal. Her research interests include artificial intelligence in tourism, technology acceptance in tourism, the use of service robots, among other related topics.
