João P. Monteiro completed a PhD in Biosciences (Toxicology) after obtaining a Master’s in Cell Biology and a Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Coimbra. He held multiple Post-Doc positions in Portugal, working across proteomics, reproductive biology, and science management. His research expanded internationally at NYU Abu Dhabi in 2022, where he focused on metabolomics of marine animal microbiomes. Currently, João lectures at EUVG while continuing his research in marine biology and seafood industry co-products at CESAM, University of Aveiro.
