Rosa Rego is an Assistant Professor of General and Analytical Chemistry at the Chemistry Department of the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) since 2006. She is carrying out research at the Chemistry Research Centre of Vila Real (CQ-VR), in the Materials Chemistry Research Line working in the domain of materials for energy, environment and health. My investigation has been focusing on sensors for gases, synthesis and structural/morphological characterization of catalysts for fuel cell reactions, electrochemical characterization of electrochromic devices, and more recently on sensors development for on-site emergent pollutants quantification. I graduated in Farmaceutical Sciences in 1989 and got a Ph.D. in Chemistry Engineering in 2006, both from the University of Porto (UP). I was Vice-Head of the Department of Chemistry of UTAD April 2009/March 2013. I participate/d in 8 national projects (1 PRR, A MoVer), 1 as PI, and 7 as a team member. I participated in na EU project for education within the HEI Initiative-Innovation Capacity Building for Higher Education 2021/23 (mentoring and seminars delivery). I am UTAD's PI of an Erasmus+ project with Poland (University of Kraków 2021-). Main contributions to society: I parcipated in the organizing committee of the International Year of Chemistry (2011) and the International Year of the Periodic Table (2019), in training activities for SPQ, and young students. I have published 33 papers in international peer-review journals.
