Goreti Sales received a degree in PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES (1994) from the Faculty of Pharmacy of Porto University, a Ph.D. in ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY (2000) from Porto University, Portugal, in 2000, and an Habilitation in CHEMICAL AND BIOLOGICAL ENGINEERING in 2017 from Minho University. ||| Since is currently FULL PROFESSOR in the CHEMICAL ENGINEERING department of the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies of the University of Coimbra, having before a 20 years teaching/research experience in the School of Engineering of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (ISEP). ||| Her research interests are mainly devoted to BIOMIMETIC NANOMATERIALS AND (BIO)SENSING DEVICES, applied in different fields. She started in the University of Coimbra a new research group, named BioMark@UC, which combines about 10 highly interdisciplinary researchers (https://biomark-uc.eu/). This group comes after her previous research group, BioMark, Sensor Research (BioMark@ISEP), that she created in July 2011, along with 5 PhD students, combining in 2019 a team of about 25 researchers. BioMark is also a research group of CEB, Biological Engineering Centre of Minho University. ||| In terms of project coordination, the STARTING GRANT/FP7, 3P's of the EUROPEAN RESEARCH COUNCIL is highlighted herein, with a budget of 1 million euros (2013 to 2018). This grant targeted the development of fully autonomous devices to monitor cancer biomarkers, by merging separate fields of knowledge: Plastic Antibodies, Photovoltaics and Plasmonics. Since April 2019, she is also coordinating the FET-OPEN/H2020project MindGAP, approved for funding in 2018, by the European Commission, with a budget over 4.4 million euros and aiming to establish a relation between mind, body, mediation and exosomes.
