André Ferreira is driven early-career researcher with a solid academic background in biological sciences and a strong commitment to sustainability and plant biotechnology. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology (2022) and a Master's degree in Functional Biology and Biotechnology of Plants (2024), both from the University of Porto. Currently a PhD candidate, André’s academic and professional development reflects a passion for green innovation through science. His Master’s thesis was in the scope of the CC&NUTS project and titled “Can foliar-applied silicon increase the resilience of Castanea sativa Miller to climate change?”, demonstrates his experience in experimental design, plant physiology, and applied biotechnology, and serves as a foundation for his continuing research interests. As he embarks on his doctoral journey, André is focused to further expand his expertise and making an impact in the fields of biotechnology.
