Ana Rita Garcia is a Fellow Researcher at Neurovascular Laboratory at Faculty of Pharmacy of University of Lisbon and affiliated to i.MedU.Lisboa - Research Institute for Medicines. Born in 1995, has graduated in Biochemistry (2016) and completed her master's in Molecular Biology and Genetics (2020). Ana Rita started her scientific activities in Neurovascular Laboratory (2018) in breast cancer brain metastasization, in specific focused on the interplay between triple-negative breast cancer cells and blood-brain barrier during extravasation process. This project allowed her to be the first author of 1 published paper (2019), first author of 3 posters (+ 3 as co-author) and 2 oral communication presented in 4 national and international meetings. Has awarded with 1 scholarship (for a year) sponsored by Liga Portuguesa Contra o Cancro / Pfizer. In 2021, started his PhD in Pharmacy, after being awarded a scholarship from the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), resulting in 1 publication as co-first author in an international journal, 1 book chapter and 6 posters (3 as first author and 3 as co-author) and 1 international prize. At this moment, Ana Rita is also team member of 2 scientific projects, including a pFizer Medical Grant.
