Tânia Lourenço is a PhD student at University of Coimbra. Her PhD project was awarded with a FCT scholarship (SFRH/BD/114731/2016) and has been developed at Mário Grãos’s lab at Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology in collaboration with Gonçalo Castelo-Branco’s lab at Karolinska institute. She obtained her Bachelor and Master’s degree at University of Coimbra. Her main research field is Cell Mechanobiology with particularly interest on how brain mechanical properties change in neurodegenerative diseases and its influence oligodendrocyte biology. Publications include Nature Communications and Frontiers in Cellular Neuroscience. Was involved in several outreach and educational activities for science dissemination to the community, including talks for high school students, teachers, elderly and population in general, including activities & courses promoted by IEC and Brain Awareness Week.
