Matheus Henrique Alves holds a bachelor's degree from the Federal University of Technology - Paraná (UTFPR, 2021) and a Master's in Construction Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB, 2021). His master's thesis focused on assessing the behaviour of Double-stud Light Steel Frame Walls Under Fire Conditions - Experimental and Numerical Studies. In 2020, was a researcher at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, developing activities in partnership with the University of Aveiro within the scope of the project StaSteFi - Fire Design of Stainless-Steel Members (POCI-01-0145-FEDER-030655). From April 2021 to June 2023, was a researcher on the project HiFireDoor - Development of High-Performance Decorative Wooden Fire Doors (NORTE-01-0247-FEDER-072225). Throughout his research activity, he has published as author or co-author several scientific articles in the proceedings of national and international conferences and peer-reviewed journals. In 2022, he started his PhD project at the University of Aveiro, aiming to assess timber structures' fire behaviour. The main research topics are related to the behaviour of structures under fire and the thermal and mechanical characterisation of construction materials at elevated temperatures.
