Diana Duarte Lobo completed the Master degree in Molecular Genetics and Biomedicine in 2017 by Universidade Nova de Lisboa Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia and the Bachelor in Biochemistry in 2015 by Universidade de Coimbra Faculdade de Ciencias e Tecnologia. Her Master thesis has resulted in an original article published in Acta Neurpathological Communications. She participates and/or participated as Research Fellow in several projects, some involving pharmaceutical companies such as, Wave Life Sciences, uniQure and Blade Therapeutics. She has received a scholarship to attend to SPN Meeting 2019. Her work has produced 6 oral and poster communications as presenting author in national conferences. Diana published 2 articles in peer-reviewed journals (eg. Brain and Molecular Therapy) and 2 articles as first author, one of them recently accepted in Nucleic Acid Therapeuthics journal. Diana works/worked in the areas of Neurosciences and Gene Therapy targeting the brain, mainly in the context of Machado-Joseph disease. Currently, Diana is a PhD student at Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology of University of Coimbra. Her thesis is entitled “Overcoming the major roadblocks for successful AAV-based gene therapy in CNS”.
