Andrews Victor Almeida de Souza completed the Master in Industrial Engineering, specialization in Mechanical Engineering on 08/10/2020 by the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB) and has the area of specialization Biomechanics and Biomaterials. In his master's dissertation, entitled Hemodynamic study in a real intracranial aneurysm: an in vitro and in silico approach, he developed a new method for the manufacture of biomodels in aneurysm, acquired the necessary knowledge to perform numerical simulations in Ansys, as well as characterization of elastomeric materials and experimental tests of in vitro flow. During his academic career, he undertook an Erasmus Plus internship at the University of Extremadura, Spain, with the title Experimental Study of the flow across a cerebral aneurysm, where he developed more skills in the visualization of fluids using a high-speed camera. He is currently a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Minho, Portugal, with thesis title: “i9Models: Development of innovative in vitro models to study the wall deformability and blood flow in aneurysms”.
