Mariana Castelôa has completed her Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry in 2019 and her Master's degree in Applications in Biotechnology and Synthetic Biology in 2021, both by FCUP - Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto. During her Master's dissertation, she worked at FFUP - Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto, evaluating the pharmacological effects of bioactive compounds. In her academic curriculum, she has 3 oral communications with abstract publication, 2 posters, and is the first author of 1 article published in a high-impact peer-review international journal. She was also a co-supervisor of a BSc international student. Currently, she is working with a Master Research Grant at CIQUP - Research Center in Chemistry of the University of Porto, integrated with the FCT-funded project NOXIOUS (EXPL/BIABQM/0492/2021), which aims to develop targeted covalent inhibitors to unravel NOX2 crystal structure.
