Maria Sabrina Vieira de Miranda de Paiva de Souza completed her Master's in Industrial Engineering, specialization in Mechanical Engineering on March 27, 2020 at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB). During her academic career, she completed an Erasmus Plus internship at the University of Extremadura, Spain, where she performed numerical simulations of fluids using the commercial software Ansys Fluent, applied to the analysis of the flow behavior in steady and transient conditions for different Reynolds numbers in intracranial aneurysm. As a result of this work, she concluded her master's thesis entitled “Numerical study of flow in a real intracranial aneurysm for different Reynolds numbers” and, together with the internship team, she published an article in the Mechanics Research Communications journal (IF:2.254; Q1), entitled “3D manufacturing of intracranial aneurysm biomodels for flow visualizations: low-cost fabrication processes”. She has been working as a research fellow for two years. She worked for 18 months as a research fellow on the project "Factory of the Future: Smart Manufacturing" between University of Minho and the company Bosch Car Multimedia. Currently, she is a research fellow in a competitive funded FCT research project (EXPL/EMEEME/ 0732/2021), entitled “Next generation of in vitro models for the study of wall deformability and blood flow in aneurysms” at the IPB. In addition to her research experience, she has published 7 Scopus indexed publications (5 in international journals and 2 in conference proceedings), 1 book chapter and several conference papers. Her most recent research work was published at the Fluids journal (indexed in Scopus), entitled “Fluid Flow and Structural Numerical Analysis of a Cerebral Aneurysm Model”, in which she is the first author.
