With a background in biotechnology and biophysics, my research is based on the development of natural-based biomaterials for regenerative purposes using advanced biofabrication techniques. I have a PhD in Tissue Engineering, Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cells (2021) from University of Minho (Portugal) and I currently work at University of Aveiro, COMPASS Research Group (CICECO). During my career, I performed several internationalization periods: UPV, Spain (2014/15); UniFi, Italy (2018/19); Univ. Maastricht, Netherlands (2023); Uni. Otago, New Zealand (2026). I have 24 publications in international peer-reviewed journals (11 as first-author, 8 as corresponding author) and 33 oral communications, including 10 invited talks in seminars and workshops and 47 poster communications. I currently mentor or supervise 1 Post-doc, 3 PhD candidates, 3 MSc students, and 2 research fellows. I am the principal investigator of the FCT-funded project LEGO, and I am co-leading the scientific team of the EU project m2M at University of Aveiro. I have received 14 awards/prizes in recognition of my work, including from prestigious societies in the field, including the ISBF Early-Career Investigator Award 2025, the TERMIS SYIS 2025 Impact award, and the CICECO Young Investigator Award 2024
