Helena Gil Martins de Faria Gomes tem o mestrado Integrado em Engenharia do Ambiente (2017) e o Curso de Formação Avançada do Programa Doutoral em Biorrefinarias (2019), ambos pela Universidade de Aveiro. Participou no Projeto de Co-Promoção com a Bosch Termotecnologia, SA, intitulado SMART GREEN HOMES, como bolseira de Investigação Mestre e e faz parte do Projeto INPACTUS, projeto de co-promoção com a empresa The Navigator Company. Atualmente é aluna de doutoramento com Bolsa FCT e trabalha em conversão termoquímica de resíduos florestais, focando-se no processamento, limpeza e melhoria do gás produzido durante a gasificação de biomassa residual.
