Maria Rosário Caeiro Martins is an Associate Professor of the Department of Medical and Health Sciences at the School of Health and Human Development of the University of Évora. She has a PhD in Chemistry (Biochemistry) by the University of Évora (2004) and a BSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences (1984-1990) by the Faculty of Pharmacy of Lisbon University. she is an integrated member of HERCULES Laboratory (R&D FCT Center) and the main domains of Research are Clinical Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Toxicology of Bioactive compounds and Biotechnology applied to Cultural and Natural Heritage. Research areas are focus on: Clinical Biochemistry; Healthy Food, Functional Foods and Phytotherapy; Pharmacology and Toxicology of active compounds; Therapeutical target drugs and Pharmacotherapy; Environmental and Heritage Biochemistry and Biotecnology. Supervision of 10 PhD students (5 concluded), 15 MSc and more than 100 undergraduate students. Participation in 25 R&D projects, of which 6 are ongoing. Co-author of 54 publications in SCI-journals (Scopus h index=19); presented more than 200 communications in scientific meetings, including 53 oral communications .
