Sara Palos Souto de Miranda

Sara Souto Miranda, is a research fellow at iBiMED – Institute of Biomedicine and at ESSUA – School of Health Sciences, University of Aveiro, Portugal. Miranda graduated in physiotherapy from the University of Aveiro in 2016 and completed her Master degree in respiratory physiotherapy, in the same institution in 2018. Miranda was a research fellow for a multicentric project with University of Aveiro and University of Toronto, entitled “Randomized controlled trial of balance training for fall reduction in individuals with COPD” (ref.363312), funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. She is currently a researcher of PRISMA and TesseRespira, funded projects by Labex and a research fellow in “PRIME – Pulmonary rehabilitation and microbiota innovation in COPD” funded by the national foundation for science and technology. Miranda has published two papers in international peer-reviewed journals and has been distinct by the European Respiratory Society with a grant for “Best Abstract in Patient centered research” in 2018. Miranda is also an active member of scientific societies such as the Portuguese Pulmonology Society, European Respiratory Society and the Portuguese Physiotherapy Association. Miranda has been an invited speaker in a national conference, has been a reviewer on an international journal, has conducted 7 seminars for physiotherapy students, and has 18 abstracts in international and national conference proceedings, 10 oral communications, and 12 knowledge transfer activities.
