Born in Guimarães, he has a degree in Fine Arts - Painting, from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, a Master's degree in Drawing from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, in 2005 and a PhD in Drawing at the same educational institution. He has been a professor in the Arts department at the School of Education of the Polytechnic University of Bragança since 2002, being Course Director of the Animation and Artistic Production Degree at this institution. He is the author of Caderno 1-Atelier de Educação Visual-Programação and methodological suggestions for the Third Cycle. Lisboa, Constância Editores, 2002 and co-author with Luís Herberto of the manual - Visual Education Atelier - Third Cycle. Lisbon, Constância Editores, 2002 Under the name António Santos, he has exhibited regularly since 1995. He won the 1st Prize at the IIIª Bienal de Artes Plásticas da Marinha Grande in 2000 and an Honorable Mention in Painting - Xº Salão da Primavera at Casino Estoril in 1997. His works are in the collections of Lisbon City Council, Braga City Council, Municipal Council of Viana do Castelo, Marinha Grande Glass Museum and Art Collection of Instituto Camões.
