I obtained my bachelor degree in Biochemistry in University of Porto and proceed my studies into the Master of Molecular and Translation Neurosciences in University of Coimbra, always with a great academic performance, having completed my master degree in 2022 with a successful master thesis (19/20 values). During my master, I became more interested in the study of social behaviors, focusing my thesis on understanding how prefrontal cortex (PFC) neurons are modulated during social interactions between mice of different social ranks, using in vivo electrophysiology recordings in freely moving mice, animal behavior experiments and behavior analysis and immunohistochemistry assays. Right now, I am starting my PhD ,to investigate complex decision-making in rats, focusing my attention on pro-social behaviors and the role of the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC), using close loop optogenetics, electrophysiology and miniature endoscopes. Additionaly, I have been active and interested in science communication activities, participating in outreach activities and I recently attended the Winter school of CNC-UC- Neuroscience meets society: transversal skills for future neuroscientists- to promote my skills also in this field.
