Katarzyna Anna Pisarska completed her PhD in English Literature in 2010 and her MA in English Philology in 2001 at Maria Curie-Sklodowska University (MCSU) in Lublin, Poland. In the years 2002-2020 she worked, first as Assistant Lecturer, and from 2010 as Assistant Professor, in the Institute of English Studies at MCSU. In the years 2022-2025 she was an Invited Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra. Currently she is an Assistant Professor at the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Minho. She is an Integrated Researcher at the Centre for Humanistic Studies (CEHUM), University of Minho. She has published 2 authored books, 1 co-edited book, and a number of articles and book chapters on British and American literature, the Gothic and utopian cinema and fiction. Her main research interests focus on Scottish literature and culture, Utopian Studies, the Gothic, and myth in literature and culture.
