My academic track started with a bachelor’s in Economics at ISCTE-IUL between 2016 and 2019, with a final grade of 16/20. Aiming to follow a career in research, I applied and got in the Masters in Economics at Nova SBE. This allowed me to further my studies in Macroeconomics, Microeconomics and Econometrics, giving me the tools to specialize and work in Environmental Economics. My thesis focused on the economic valuation of ecosystem services in Portugal, graded at 17/20. The final grade of the MSc was 16/20. While a researcher at the Environmental Economics Knowledge Center, I worked with a multidisciplinary team of economists and biologists, assessing the economic value of ecosystem services in Portugal. To further my understanding of the field, I applied and was accepted to the PhD in Economics, concluding now the first year. In 2020 I started to collaborate as a Research Assistant at the Environmental Economics Center - Nova SBE. Initially, I worked on a project that assessed the economic benefits of the ocean in the Cascais Municipality. By November 2021, I started working, as a Research Fellow, under the project “ASEBIO”, until August 2022. In this project I assessed the economic value of Land-Based Ecosystem Services in Portugal and presented the research in two top conferences of the field: MED-IAERE and AERNA. The work is now published in the Working Paper Series of Nova SBE. In November 2022 I started working in the research project “BlueForests”, tasked with the valuation of marine ecosystem services in seagrass meadows and kelp forests in Portugal.
