Alison Burrows is Invited Assistant Professor at Universidade do Minho, where she teaches Design undergraduate and master's modules as well as supervising master's dissertations on a variety of topics. She has held several post-doctoral research positions, through which she has continued to develop her design research expertise. Her research background is in Inclusive Design and User Experience (UX), specializing in human-centred and participatory design approaches. Her publications reflect her broad interest in applying these approaches to real world contexts, which include the Out-of-Box Experience (OoBE), emerging technologies, healthcare and wellbeing, the home environment, and the ethics of design.
